Home Again

SEPTEMBER 06 / 08

I've just returned home from one of the most memorable trips of my life with South America Snow Sessions (www.sasnowsessions.com). A month and a half flew by while I was indulging myself in the Argentinian culture. Plenty of meat, wine, and powder. Here are a few photos from my trip. Enjoy.

The trees were often the place to be.

This shot was taken from my bedroom window. Not bad.

Hanging out by the train tracks. Nobody got hit.

Cerro Catedral has amazing views.

Silly little fish with feet.

When it snows it dumps.

"Where did you get those skis bro?"

Dance party at the campers house. DJ, flashing lights, and Michael Jackson toe standers all night.

Me and fellow ripping skier Madeline. She was the Mother Theresa at camp and really held things together with her trilingual abilities and nothing but positiveness. Always down for hiking and picknicks in the snow.

One of the many on hill asados for SASS. How can you pass this up. Luckily it never happened on a powder day.

Mate...kept me going after long days on the hill and missing siesta time due to the debauchery at the house. There was always something funny happening, it was hard to sleep during the day...and night I guess.

My last asado. Hard to leave this behind.

Dash Longe trying to blend in with the locals with his fanny pack. If you ever try to pick pocket him you won't be successful.

Vino!

Asado time at the campers place. Lot's of red meat. Tough to be a vegetarian in these parts.

Nice little lip with and endless powder landing.

Dash and Pep getting ready for an epic tree run. Dash had a pretty nifty chest cam going on.

TJ SCHILLER & DR.VAN VALIN DO VERNON

JULY 26 / 08

Holy post !
I'm breaking my cherry doing this lady's and gentlemen. But here we go - After being up at Whistler coaching at Mommentum this summer, i convinced Luke to come back to Vernon to hang out with all the Vernon boys. We've been blessed with awesome arid weather for the entire month , so we enjoyed some killer time in the Lake (KALAMALKA LAKE).
Super pimp styles.

It's been a long time since i've been able to jump and take an impact - but my rehab is coming along SUPER good and my knee is feeling totally righteous. So why not test it out into the water???

These are the Kal cliffs. I come here as much as i can every summer. This was my first time this summer . After doing some tricks off this one i had an ear to ear grin for the rest of the day. Seriously have been waiting for that weightless feeling of floating something out in the air. Dr. Van Valin scoping 911 - sorry the camera dude filmed it sideways :P

Cliff jumping was sick for sure. But we wanted to hit some balls into the Lake by the Butt-hutt. (our remote hang out spot for the loc-dogs)

Luke wanted to get this girls number on our way out, but she wasn't awake Luke was a lil cheesed for missing the opportunity.

On to the BUTT-HUTT ! This was some dudes private beach. He owns a mansion right above this spot. The story (as i have heard) Was this dude who owned all this got into some legal battle and he thought the best thing to do was to off himself, instead of dealing with the issue. He did and then gave all his property (incl the mansion and beach) to the district. So now its public but knowone really knows about it. Styles. We brought down a bucket of balls and a couple drivers and Irons. When we cruised down there , Justin (J-Bone)Dorey, Rylie (Tybo) Leboe, Marsh (munch) Talbot, Fergilicious Cancade and Joey cheese belly Schuster were already down there soaking up some early evening rays. Choice.
Vernon boys

Ahhh.. Luke here! As Teeeeej explained, and as im sure you can imagine, it was a truly sensational day of Canadian Debauchery. Highlight for me? Seeing Tom Schiller flying through the air in nonstop light, smooth rotation.

"Hey Luke! Do a bio 9!"

"Ummm, yeah, I was thinking more like...."

"Oh screw you, I'm doing it!"

And then the happy go lucky young child thrusted himself off a high rock into a splendidly slow motion front cork nine hundo.... And he even threw in a Schiller mute.

No big deal.

South America Snow Sessions

JULY 26 / 08

My view from my bedroom every morning.

I'm here in South America right now coaching with South America Snow Sessions (www.sasnowsessions.com). I've been here for a couple of weeks now and feel like I've gotten an amazing experience, but I'm planning on staying longer because I know it's only going to get better.

This was just sitting at the top of the lift, no setup.

The first couple of days after I arrived were a bit rainy, but then it started to dump. It's been snowing or sunny ever since. We've opened up some sick zones in the backcountry with our two camp guides and have been able to take kids back there who haven't ever skied powder before. The end of camp session 2 is today, but a handfull of kids are staying for another session. The park is opening up soon, but in the meantime there is plenty of big lines, pillows, and jumps to session.

Just some of the amazing mountains surrounding Catedral

This is the ideal summer camp...you get to ski powder and have an amazing cultural experience. The ski coaches are myself, Garrett Russell, Jordan Seldon, and two Argentines who absolutely kill it. The camp is pretty much full, but we still want to get some skiers down here. If you want the Michelle Parker deal, e-mail Travis at travis@sasnowsessions.com.

My girls Mel and Hailey stoked on the pow day!

You can check out www.sasnowsessions.com and www.michelle-parker.com for more info and pics from the camp.

I hope you guys are having a great summer. I've just about lost my tan, but skiing powder makes up for that.

Shake Gets er done at Montreal's Formula 1

JULY 08 / 08

Each year thousands of people flock to Montreal QC during the month of June to witness the only Formula 1 race still held in Canada. All weekend long car exhaust, beer girls, parties and more parties take over our fair city with reckless abandon and we at Orage embrace it! This year at Montreal's Formula 1 we were extremely pleased to join forces with local band "Shake" who headlined one evening during the weekend where thousands of spectators were on hand to enjoy the show. You'll be seeing more of "Shake" as we begin to feature them on our website throughout the coming year. For more info on "Shake" or to check out some of their latest tracks, visit them at http://www.shake-band.com/
Oh yeah, In case you forgot, the Orage Summer Contest Series is well underway and for all those interested please head to www.orage.com/oscs for details.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Finish!

Just an average day on F1 weekend.

"Shake"it down!
